Cislune Excavators

Break the Ice Challenge Phase 2 Level 2 Competition Updates

Cislune has completed our 15 day BTILC Level 2 durability demonstration test with over 3300kg of regolith excavated and transported.

Cislune won Phase 2 Level 1 along with 12 other US teams. In Phase 2 Level 2 each team has to setup a field test site to excavate 12 metric tons of CLSM (controlled low strength material) concrete with a compressive strength of 1.5-2 MPa (217 psi) or greater. We developed a robotic excavator with fore and aft bucket drums and worked with Adrian Stoica and his LUVTA 2 lunar proving ground and excavated and poured 20 cubic yards of CLSM to excavate during the competition starting 09/10/2023.
